It is a list of certified healthcare professionals who perform medical exams on commercial motor vehicle drivers (truck and bus drivers). These healthcare professionals help save lives by reducing the risk for crashes, injuries, and fatalities on our nation's roadways.
Eligible healthcare professionals include Medical Doctors, Chiropractors, Nurse Practitioners, Physician’s Assistants, and Doctors of Osteopathy.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) indicates that commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers receiving improper medical certification directly contribute to fatal crashes. In an effort to improve highway safety, beginning in May 2014, all Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers must have a valid medical certificate issued by eligible healthcare professionals listed on the National Registry. By joining the National Registry, you’ll attract new patients while doing your part to improve the safety of our nation’s highways.

You will be listed in the National Registry, where CMV drivers can find your contact information and schedule appointments directly with you. Beginning in May 2014, all CMV drivers must have a valid certificate issued by an examiner listed in the National Registry.
